Some bad weeks seem to spread into every part of your life. In this recording from Munich, I talk about dealing with several problems at once: relationships, business uncertainty, money worries and a routine that has started slipping.
The discussion begins with my own situation. Drinking, getting up late and missing exercise were making an already difficult period harder. I describe the lack of direction that can remain even when a business brings in money. Having activity in your life does not necessarily mean you know what comes next.
Interrupt the pattern
My first response is practical: stop repeating the habits that are feeding the bad mood. Get up, do the work and return to the routine, even before you feel particularly inspired by it.
That does not solve every problem immediately. It gives the day some structure while you work through the bigger questions. Waiting until everything feels right can leave the same unhelpful pattern running for another day.
Remember your actual track record
I then discuss the Hall of Fame exercise from SDL King. The idea is to recall things you have already accomplished and use those memories as evidence when your confidence drops.
In the episode, I draw on my own experience of studying, building businesses and completing difficult work. One rough period should not erase the rest of your history.
Watch the conversation for a personal account of regrouping when several things go wrong together. The focus is on what to do next: recover your daily habits, remember your past work and start dealing with the problems in front of you.
