A top student is not a man who flatters the coach. He is a man who did the stretch and can describe it without polishing the stalls out of the story. I wanted them around one table, one microphone, so they would correct each other. A solo interview lets a man become the hero of his own month. A table makes that harder.
What I want you to hear is the standard they were under. Same day. A season, not an afternoon. The results matter, and so do the weeks inside the season when the results were thin. If you only collect the wins from men like this, you will copy the victory and skip the part that produced it.
The cover is the table on purpose. Students and a microphone. No montage. If you are training alone, borrow their standard before you borrow their highlights. Pick a window. Tell someone what happened inside it. Let the account include the sets that did not close.
