Everybody has a version of how London game developed. In 2021, I started putting more of mine into writing.

The True London Game Story was my account of the people I met, the friendships that developed and the experiences behind the material. Tom Torero was central to that story. We had known each other from the early days, long before people could reduce the whole period to a few familiar names on YouTube.

A friendship has more detail than a label

The first piece I discussed was How I Met Tom Torero. It went back to the London community and the forums where we posted about our experiences. People wanted to know whether we could actually do the things we described. We took some of them out.

That was part of the environment in which the friendship developed. There was discussion, comparison and the practical business of going out and seeing what happened.

I wanted to explain how Tom and I were similar and how we were different. Calling us game partners tells you very little about those differences. Writing the story gave me room to describe the personalities behind the label.

The people behind the videos

Another piece covered meeting Yad and Beckster. When we were new to this, we looked up to other people too. Seeing someone repeatedly on YouTube can make him seem much larger than life.

Meeting people gives you a different kind of information. You see their character and the way they behave outside a polished introduction. You also discover which aspects of their approach fit your own personality and which do not.

The story included the different sides of that period in London and Soho. It was my perspective on events other people had already described, with my own account of where I stood in them.

Writing it meant going back

Some memories were enjoyable to revisit. Others were not. I said that openly in the episode because producing the writing involved more than assembling a timeline.

I had to return to experiences I had not previously discussed in that depth. Putting them into words was a way of working through them as well as giving readers my side of the story.

This recording was an October 2021 update on that work. It also introduced writing about beginning game and my daily productivity routine, alongside progress on the Straight Line Sex System. Those announcements belong to that moment in the archive.

The reason to revisit the episode now is the connection between the work and the life behind it. The books did not appear out of nowhere. Neither did the differences in how Tom and I approached game. There were people, conversations and years of experience before there was a finished page.
